Calvin Klein has emerged to be successful in a wide range of products like designer clothes, shoes, bags, perfumes and many more. The list is endless. It is true that everything has a beginning but looking at the success of this business venture one would imagine that they just started out rich. Just what is behind the all celebrated Calvin Klein designer clothes?

Calvin Klein known to most people by the monogram CK was started in 1968 by Calvin Klein and believe it or not, he indeed started out small. With just 10,000 dollars, he opted to start a coats shop which was stationed in New York. Just how he go to the top is not clear but businessmen will tell you that hard work definitely has got something to do with being successful in business. Having developed a passion for designing, Calvin Designed his own coats at the New York hotel and as luck would have it a buyer went to his shop one time and placed an order in bulk after seeing the handiwork of this simple man.

Together with his friend Barry, they specialized in designer clothes for both genders and as time went by, they diversified their trade to include other types of garments. These included spots wear and lingerie for ladies and underwear for men. This well known designer hit the lime light in 1973 when he won his first award (Coty American Fashion Critics Award). Having won this, he got the inspiration to go on as he saw that more and more people were appreciating his work.

In 2003 Calvin Klein was bought by the Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation and it now boasts of dealing in designer clothes, body sprays and perfumes(ex. Eternity Moment), jeans, coats, sports wear, footwear and just about anything that can be worn by a person.
